Rusty Ready to Roll

This is so exciting, in fact wonderful.

I would like to introduce you to Rusty who's waited a while for John to restore her. 
John says: 'Not sure when Rusty was last on the road but judging from the pictures I took about three years ago when I first got her it had been a long time since she rolled the tarmac lanes. Probably 20, or more years.' John has now completely restored her sorry bodywork. Whilst here at Scooter Surgery, Patrick has totally rebuild her engine. Newly registered, with new number plates - Rusty will soon be ready to "rock-n-roll". When she is completely finished pics and a video of her maiden voyage will be posted here to mark the momentous occasion.

Luna Badge Range

Here is the Luna Badge range

Luna gives us 'lunar' from Latin lucere, meaning "to shine."  As the race to be the first person on the moon gathered pace, Innocenti launched the Luna range of Lambrettas.

The Italian market models were called Lui. A small chromed 'I' badge was fitted to the leg shields just underneath the head set and they had a Lui badge. The export market models were called Vega or Cometa with the Lui badge being replaced with a Vega badge.

A brave little scooter

Andy came into the shop today and told me about his brave little scooter which he took on a run of several hundred miles. This included the Wrynose Pass which is a mountain pass between the Duddon Valley and Little Langdale.

There is a single-track road which runs over it which is said to be one of the steepest roads in England with gradients up to 1 in 3. The road continues over to Hardknott pass. 

Andy recounts some quite hair raising stories about the adventure he and his TV175 had. She pulled him all the way without breaking down.  A feat indeed and a credit to his engine building.

 

Little Flirt

When Chris's scooter came back from the painter she sat on the bench twinkling.  Chris was looking at her from every angle, the more he looked the more she twinkled.  I said "Chris she is flirting with you" and so she was named, 'Little Flirt.'

Sisters

This is Little Flirt launched in August.
She made her maiden voyage to the Isle of Wight with Chris her proud owner. The pink and white GP is Patsy, she is mine and was launched seven years ago. She averages 10,000 miles a year. Both were built here at Scooter Surgery.

                                                                             



Not a Penny Farthing

This little cutie is not a penny farthing, she is quiet a bit         smaller. Built in 1880 she is a Safety bike, so called because she was fitted with brakes and gears.  She is only one of three left in the world and was here at Scooter Surgery in transit to Italy. And what a pleasure it was to be her keeper. Food for the soul of all who saw her.

I think though this cylinder and barrel look better
on the 48 where they belong.

Gung Jue

This Lambretta was named by her owner, Mawgan  who lives in Hong Kong 'Gung Jue' which means Princess in Cantonese.  Pretty but high maintenance and demanding of attention.
